Earlier this year, Dale High transitioned from being the Chairman of the High Companies to Chairman Emeritus. Mr. High served as Chairman since 1977, and began working at the family business in 1963. The High Companies, which celebrated its 85th Anniversary this year, traces its history back to 1931 when Mr. High’s father opened his first business, High Welding. During Mr. High’s period of leadership, this multi-generational family business enterprise grew to become an industrial business and real estate conglomerate employing over 2,000 associates. It is one of the larger businesses of its kind in the United States. (Learn more about the High Companies at www.high.net)

James Bly, the Chairman & CEO of Headwaters SC (HWSC) has served on the investment committee of the High Companies since it was organized in 2011.  Mr. Bly said, “Since 1982, HWSC has existed for one fundamental reason: we are passionate about the important purpose, role and value business owning families bring to our economy and society. I am pleased to be of service to Mr. High, his board and executive team, and his family as their business philosophy and good citizenship represent the very best of what family controlled businesses can offer to their employees, communities and regional economies. Dale High is an exemplary leader, businessman, father and grandfather, and human being. I am honored to know him.”

We congratulate Dale High on his leadership and legacy!
